Kate Huenink
With 12 years of hair experience Kate decided to open Spruce and become all of us stylists biggest cheerleader! Kate’s hair career is built on personalizing each clients cut and/or color to complement their lifestyle, individuality, and personal taste. To her, there is no privilege bigger then empowering the women in her community with bad ass hair. She specializes in both cutting and coloring but specifically loves fashion colors. She is driven by the challenge of going from one extreme to the next.
When she’s not being our kick ass leader she is out on some adventure with her biggest fans, her husband and 7 year old daughter Lydia. She loves to spend time outside whether it’s camping or kayaking she’ll take it on. “Target is my passion” -Kate Huenink
Mandy Deal
Mandy began her craft over 12 years ago, the foundation of her approach is texture-based haircutting and integrity-based hair coloring techniques. She has a deep love for the curly hair, creating lived-in, modern hair shapes, and fresh, graceful color. She is sought out for her blonding techniques whether thats eye-catching platinum or naturally sun kissed. With her laid-back personality, creativity and keen eye for detail, she strives to create amazing looks for her clients by asking the right questions and establishing trust and comfort.
Mandy is not only a talented stylist, but also finds inspiration in other parts of her life. She took on her second business sewing in 2015, Tillie Stitches, it is an another outlet she finds her creativity. When she’s not being a powerhouse with both styling and sewing she is spending time with her pup Hank and husband Nate. They love to enjoy live music and when the Nebraska weather allows, even paddle board! But any outdoors activity will really do.
Ellie Sullivan
In the eight years since hair school, Ellie has grown to love balayage, hair cutting, and styling. She strives to help clients find what works best for their hair and lifestyle by working with trendy and classic looks. Ellie is a natural color enthusiast and is kind of obsessed with how a new cut and color can totally give someone a huge boost in self confidence. If you are looking for a change she is not afraid to chop those long lengths!
Outside of the salon world she loves hanging out with her two dogs and active cat, home projects, and go camping with her husband! When she’s not exploring Lincoln, she loves visiting her family in Colorado and her parents lake house in North Platte.
Ann Rail
2019 we get to celebrate Ann’s 20th year behind the chair! With her many years of her experience Ann does it all, specializing in precision hair cutting, razor cutting, fabulous blowouts, blondes, natural hair color, and fashion colors. She is able to tame thick manes and give just the perfect amount of detail to pixies. She will give your long layers life, and shape up your curls to best compliment you. Ann works with you to give you consistent, personalized amazing hair. She loves to teach you how to maintain it at home and shares with you all the beauty tips and tricks she knows.
Away from work Ann is usually doing some soft of cool mom things with her (sometimes) sweet 4 boys. Frequent pizza dates and pool tournaments keeps her teenagers happy. As for Ann whether its live music or hanging out at a local pub she loves to celebrate life with friends.
Holly Krause - Nail Tech
Holly has built up her business by keeping the integrity of her clients nails healthy and strong. She truly cares for her craft and her works shows it! With the nail world constantly changing, and trends emerging, Holly loves to explore new techniques while staying true to never using an electric drill and keeping the health of your nails her priority. Holly’s personality exudes fun and adventure, she is one who is ready to get in and help when she can. But also being tedious every step of the way. Im sure her stories of ice fishing could tell you how patient she is as well.
Holly loves to spend time outdoors with her husband and family. But wait till she shows you a picture of her little pup Porter.
MC Cockrill
In their own words:
I’ve been a stylist and barber in the Lincoln community for over 13 years now. I get asked a lot why I chose this profession and the answer has remained the same all this time: it combines my passion for people and creativity.
My goal as a stylist is to provide a safe environment for clients to feel comfortable expressing themselves while I create a style built around the individual and their lifestyle.
I’m best known for my work with vivids colors, color corrections and transformations, razor/textured cuts and shag styles, and curly hair.
I’m a mental health, chronic illness, and LGBTQ+ safe space and am very open about those area of my life as well. Compassion, kindness, authenticity, advocacy, and integrity are my values and I try to implement them into every aspect of my life and work.
Outside of the salon you can find me working on a variety of art projects, practicing my spirituality, listening to music, reading, watching something creepy, or trying not to kill my plants!
Taylor Madsen
Taylor loves making people feel comfortable, and creating the looks they have always wanted. She loves staying on trend and giving her clients that "pinterest hair"! Taylor specializes in blonding, but is passionate about all hair styles and types. She has been in the industry for eight years. When she's not in the salon she enjoys baking, painting, and catching up on the latest netflix shows. Taylor is currently not accepting new clients right now, this is subject to change in the future.
